發病傾向:易患瘡癤、黃疸、火熱等病證
濕熱是指人體內的濕與熱同時存在的現象。濕就是水濕,分外濕和內濕。外濕由外來水濕入侵人體引起,內濕由脾胃消化功能障礙導致水濕停滯,屬病理產物。熱是一種熱象,如辛辣或者熱性的食物吃多了,人體會滋生內熱。肝膽的疏泄功能失常,肝膽鬱而化熱。體內陽氣過盛,陰並制陽,也易產生熱象。水濕滯留過久也會化熱,而陽熱的人則因水濕入侵而形成濕熱。
養生法:清熱利濕
飲食宜清淡,多吃甘寒、甘平食物,綠豆、苦瓜、芹菜、通菜、赤小豆、薏苡仁、鴨肉等
少吃煎炸、甜食、幸辣刺激食物。
戒煙酒。
忌諱熬夜,要有足夠睡眠。成年人最好在23點前入睡,熬夜傷肝膽,會影響肝膽之氣的升發,容易內生濕熱。
與痰濕體質一樣,居住環境避免住近海邊、地下室等潮濕環境。
可選擇高強度運動,大量出汗有助排出體內濕邪。
保持二便通暢。
肝膽疏泄功能失常,肝膽之氣鬱結而化熱,脾虛內生痰濕,久而久之形成濕熱體質。故應修身養性,保持情緒心態平和,使肝膽疏泄暢達,氣機運行暢通無阻。
敲膽經。兩手握拳,稍用力。從兩邊大腿外側根部開始由上而下慢慢順序敲打至膝蓋,每次敲打2~3分鐘。
濕熱首選背部膀胱經刮痧、拔罐、走罐,疏通經絡,驅走體內積聚的濕熱邪氣。
薏米綠豆粥
綠品甘寒,能清熱解毒,消暑利尿; 薏米甘淡微寒,能利水消腫、健脾去濕。兩者均是清熱除濕佳品。
將薏米綠豆按2:1比例一起同煮即可。還可以加入與綠豆同等份量白扁豆或鮮海帶。
赤小豆
赤小豆利水除濕,使濕熱下行而消腫。可煮粥、煲湯或煮餸。雖然赤小豆具有良好的利尿功效,但若是陰虛而無濕熱者或是多尿者,則忌食赤小豆 。
玫瑰花、菊花沖泡代茶。

Tendency for illness: boil, jaundice, disease of heat-fire nature.
Damp and heat body constitution means both dampness and heat exist in the body. Dampness is water dampness, which is categorized into outer and inner dampness. Outer dampness is caused by the incursion of “damp” pathogens from outer body, and inner dampness is caused by weakened digestive and transporting power of spleen and stomach, resulting in stagnation of dampness inside the body. Both are illness symptoms.
Heat occurs in the body as inner heat when spicy food or “hot” natured food is eaten in excess. When the dispersion and dredging function of the liver does not function properly, the liver and gallbladder function becomes stagnant and heated. Heat also occurs when Yang Qi in our body is in excess and Yin is suppressed, as well as when wet and dampness becomes heated after prolonged detention. When outer damp pathogens invade body of heated Yang, it forms damp heat as well.
Health regiment: clear heat and disinhibit dampness
Engage in a bland diet. Eat more sweet and “cold” natured food such as mung bean, bitter melon, celery, water spinach, rice bean, coix seed, duck meat.
Eat less fried, sweet, spicy, and stimulating food.
Do not drink or smoke.
Do not stay up late. Have sufficient sleep. Adult should sleep before 11pm. Staying up late will harm the liver and its rising ability, forming damp heat within the body.
Similar to that of phlegm and dampness body constitution, avoid living near sea or in underground basement where the environment is humid.
Can engage in high intensity exercise since sweating helps discharge inner damp pathogens.
Keep defecation and urination smooth.
Weakening of the dispersion and dredging function of the liver will cause the liver and gallbladder to be stagnant and heated, and weakening of the spleen will form phlegm and dampness. These two situations eventually create a damp heat body constitution. Spiritual cultivation can help calm down emotions and maintain stable mentality, which improves the dispersion and dredging functions of the liver and gallbladder and improve circulation of Qi.
Gallbladder Meridian massage
With slight force, strike the outer side of thighs with fists slowly from top to bottom towards the knee, 2-3 minute at a time.
The bladder meridian at the back is most effective in treating heat and dampness. Gua Sha, cupping therapy or moving cupping of this area helps dredge the meridians and recover the ability to eliminate heat dampness inside the body.
Coix seed and mung bean porridge
Mung bean is sweet and cold in nature. It helps clear away heat and resolve toxin, as well as thirst quenching and diuretic effect. Coix seeds are sweet, pale, and slightly cold natures. It helps induce diuresis to reduce edema and invigorating spleen for eliminating dampness. Both ingredients are very effective at clearing away heat and dampness.
Simmer coix seed and mung beans at a 2:1 ratio. White hyacinth bean or fresh kelp can be added as well, with ratio same as that of mung bean.
Rice bean
Rice bean helps induce diuresis to eliminate dampness, allowing dampness and heat to be released, reducing edema. Can be used in porridge, soup or in dishes. Although rice beans have an effective diuresis effect, people who are Yin deficient and not have heat and dampness, or people with frequent urination should not eat rice bean.
Rose or chrysanthemum tea is also recommended.
